Mera peak is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks. Mera peak is the highest climbing peak of Nepal. Mera peak climbing is challenging peak but it is not technically difficult, previous climbing experience would support to summit the Mera peak. It has a trekking summit of 6461 meters 21,198 feet an amazing and unforgettable adventure experience.

Main attraction of Mera peak is the panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Everest 8848m, Cho-Oyu 8201m, Lhotse 8516m, Makalu 8463m, Kanchenjunga, Nuptse, Chamlang etc. Mount Mera peak is situated at Mahalangur Himalayan range in Everest region at Solukhumbu District, located in the Hinku valley Nepal.

Mera central is a fairly average kind of climb and anyone who has climbed Africa’s highest peak at 5895m the Kilimanjaro can climb Mera peak.
Mera Peak climbing begins after exciting flight to Lukla than after trek continues to base camp through the narrow valleys. People have generally climbed the Mera central, at 6461m. The true summit however the Mera peak north side, at 6476m and is just a stone’s throw away.

Mera north is actually less steep than Mera central and is also easier to climb. Good weather and snow conditions are of course, necessary for safety and successful summit. We organize summit this peak at north side and center both with the support of highly experience Sherpa guide and support staffs.

Mera peak is group “B” category climbing peak under mountaineering association Nepal. Mera peak climbing trip is suitable for all adventure seekers that are good health and physically fitness. The Himalayan view from the top of Mount Mera is truly a spectacular one, something you may never forget for the rest of your lives!

Mera peak trekking trail passes throw the forests of pine and rhododendron in remote and uninhabited areas. The first person to have climbed the peak is British Army officer Jim Roberts in May 20, 1953. He is also known as the grandfather of trekking in Nepal. This was during the reconnaissance of the Hinku and Hongu valleys.

However, the honor of being the first to reach the true Mera North summit is held by Frenchmen Marcel Jolly, G Baus and L Honills in 1975. Then after Mera Peak climb become popular between trekkers and climbers of the world. Mera peak climbing itinerary has been carefully designed to allow for gradual ascend and proper acclimatization. Best time of the year to climb Mera peak are March, April, May and September, October, November.

Mera peak climbing itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Nepal; upon your arrival in Nepal our representative welcome and assists to transfer Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu tours and permit preparation.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla then Trek to Chutanga (3050m).

Day 04: Trek to Khartitang via Zatrawala Pass (4610m).

Day 05: Trek from Khartitang to Kothe (4095m).

Day 06: Trek to Tangnang (4356m.) via Hinku Valley (4600m).

Day 07: Rest day at Thangnang for acclimatization.

Day 08: Trek from Tangnang to Khare(5045m).

Day 09: Rest and acclimatization day at Khare.

Day 10: Trek from Khare to Mera La (Pass) (5350m)

Day 11: Trek from Mera La (Pass) to Mera Peak High Camp (5780m)

Day 12: Summit Mera Peak (6654m) and return to Mera La (5350m).

Day 13: Trek from Mera La to Thangnang(4356m).

Day 14: Trek from Thangnang to Kothe(4095m).

Day 15: Trek from Kothe to Khartitang(3900m).

Day 16: Trek from Khartitang to Chutanga(3050m).

Day 17: Trek from Chutanga to Lukla(2800m).

Day 18: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, evening farewell dinner.
