The Mardi Himal trek is a hidden treasure in the Annapurna region and a recently opened route. The creation of 4 new overnight stops on tea houses has made the trekking possible without the necessity to camp. Being fairly new, it is not crowded, natural and a good get away for people interested in trekking. Mardi himal trekking across through dense forest, beautiful villages and narrow valleys up to the Mardi himal base camp the untouched areas of Himalayas. Mardi himal or Machhapuchhare trekking provide an opportunity to explore spectacular mountain views, rivers, ethnic villages excursion, incredible scenery, immeasurable diversity of flora, fauna, nature and culture. It is moderate trail not necessary previous hiking experience.

The trek begins at Kande 1770 m which is around an hours’ drive from Pokhara. The initial trek is good, first up and then a bit steeper to Australian camp 2060m and takes about an hour. It is then downhill to Pothana 1890m and upward to Deurali 2100m. Trekkers take first overnight break here. The next morning you would trek through the jungle to the Forest Camp 2600m taking about 4 hours. You could take your second overnight break here.

The next day you can set out towards the Low Camp 3050m. The trail leaving the Forest Camp is quiet steep and takes about 3 hours. This could be your third days break location. The next morning you can set out for High Camp 3550m. One point worth noting is that trekking maps show High Camp at 3900m, but actually it is at 3550m.Annapurna first and annapurna south nepal

During this steep trail you could enjoy views of of Machhapuchhre ahead, Hiunchuli and Annapurna south. You could continue trekking for about 4-5 hours to the Mardi Himal base camp 4500m and return to the High Camp in around 4 hours, making this day the longest day of whole trek. The next day you could return to Pothana via Deurali and then next destination would be Pokhara.
The major attractions of this trek are the trek to Mardi Himal trek, impressive views of mountains, and tribal villages. The maximum altitude you would reach during the trek is 4500m. You would be required to walk for about 4-7 hours a day. The best season for Mardi Himal trek is March to May and September to November.

The round trip takes about 8 days. But if you are a nature lover and enjoy being surrounded by mountains and valleys, you could add Jhino hot spring and Ghandruk village to Mardi himal trekking route and also have a lovely trekking expedition lasting for about 10 days. Day 01: Welcome to Nepal, upon your arrival in Nepal our representative welcome and assists to transfer hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tours and preparation for Mardi himal trek.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m).

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m).

Day 05: Trek from Deurali to Forest camp (2987m).

Day 06: Trek from Forest camp to Bhaisi Kharka (3438m).

Day 07: Trek from Bhaisi Kharka to Mardi himal base camp (4120m).

Day 08: Explore Mardi base camp and trek to high camp (3900m).

Day 09: Trek from Mardi high camp to Siding village.

Day 10: Trek from Siding village to Mardi Pul.

Day 11: Trek from Mardi Pul to Hyanja (1070m) and drive to Pokhara.

Day 12: Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
