Gangtey Gogona trek leaves the valley of Gangtey at 2,830 meters and leads south, then west through the meadows and fields.
Gangtey Gogona trail passes through a mixed forest of juniper, bamboo, rhododendron, magnolia, firs, oaks, spruce, dwarf rhododendrons, miniature azaleas and cypress. Gangtey Gompa trail is rough, rocky and weaves through trees where pack animals have created deep muddy furrows.
It is one of the finest low altitude treks in Bhutan taking us to the beautiful Phobjikha valley at 3,000m and several villages Bhutan.
Trip to Gangtey Gogona is the combination of cultural and moderate nature trekking that passes some wonderful Dzongs, Chortens and Museum in Paro and Thimphu. We will also visit the famous Taktsang Monastery which is regarded as one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhist.
Best season for easy Gangtey Gogona trek are March to May and September to November, trekking tours start from Phobjikha valley at 3000m and it is one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan. It is the home of rare Black Necked Crain which migrates here in winter from Tibetan plateau. Day 01: Welcome to Nepal, after arrival at Nepal airport, our representative welcome you and assist to transfer in hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu city tours, preparation for Gangtey Gompa trek
Day 03: Flight to Paro, explore around the Paro valley.
Day 04: Sightseeing around paro then drive to Thimphu.
Day 05: Sightseeing around Thimpu capital city of Bhutan.
Day 06: Drive from Thimpu to Gangey gompa via Punakaha.
Day 07: Trek from Gangtey Gompa to Gogona.
Day 08: Trek from Gogona to Khotokha via Shobju La (3600m).
Day 09: Trek from Khotokha to Chuzomsa via Tashila pass ( 2780m).
Day 10: Drive from Chuzomsa to Paro.
Day 11: Flight back from Paro to Kathmandu, evening farewell dinner.
