Laya Gasa trek goes along the same route as the Chomolhari trek right till Lingshi. This trek begins at Drukyel Dzong near Paro, passes through the chomolhari base camp and reaches Lingzhi. At Lingzhi, it gets separated from the Jhomolhari trek and proceeds along the Tibetan border to Laya.

At Laya, the trek takes a south turn and proceeds to Gasa and Punakha. The hiking program takes 15 – 17 days. They take rest in Laya and Gasa. The highest camp of this trek is at Robluthang. The highest passes of this trek are Nyele La, 4,890m; Jhari La, 4,747m and Sinchu La, 5,005m.

During this trek, the trekkers will be at an altitude above 4000m for almost seven days. But for the altitude problem because of the high camps and high passes, the Laya Gasa trek is not a difficult trekking.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tours and preparation for Laya Gasa trek.

Day 03: Flight to Paro, explore around the Paro valley.

Day 04: Drive from Paro to Drukgyal Dzong then trek to Shana.

Day 05: Trek from Shana to Soe Thangthangkha.

Day 06: Trek from Thangthangkha to Jangothang.

Day 07: Trek from Jangothang to Lingshi.

Day 08: Trek from Lingshi to Chebisa.

Day 09: Trek from Chebisa to Shomuthang via Gobu-la pass 4350m.

Day 10: Trek from Shomuthang to Robluthang via Jerela pass.

Day 11: Trek to Lingmithang via Shingela pass 4900m.

Day 12: Trek from Lingmithang to Laya.

Day 13: Rest day at Laya village for acclimatization.
