Mani rimdu festival trek is specially design to show the Sherpa’s most popular Mani rimdu festival which celebrates in Tyangboche Monastery. Mani Rimdu festival is a series of events and sacred ceremonies where Sherpa meet and enjoy with the monastic community of Buddhist monasteries which are located in the northwest region of Nepal, near Everest.

Attributed to “Mani Rimdu” meaning is that “Mani” means “the song of Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion, a Buddhist deity figure sintetizada with the mother goddess” and “Rimdu” refers to small tablets red that are blessed during the festival. The red pills are blessed repeatedly during the festival and then distributed to all attendees.

The festival is a tradition handed down from her mother Rongbuk monastery, located in Tibet over 5,000 meters. Mani Rimdu festival trek in NepalThere are many festivals celebrated in Khumbu; Mani rimdu is the only big social event that draws together large crowds from all villages in Everest region. Mani Rimdu festival trek begins with the development of a mandala with colored sand. This sand is extracted from specific locations in the hills. Prepare the mandala usually costs about four days, then covered and is central to this religious festival.

At the end of the festival, when all the devotees are gone, the monks perform a ritual fire to ward off the danger to everyone. The monks perform the masked ball at the monastery to enter some of the protective deities as a manifestation of the legendary saint Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. The dance also shows the defeat of the demons and the initiation of Buddhism in Tibet. The Mani Rimdu is a legendary event that dates back to the foundation of Buddhism in Tibet by Guru Rinpoche.

It is believed that Buddhism is recreated during the festival. It is an annual celebration and is especially famous which is held at the monastery of Tengboche in autumn. These days prayers, religious ceremonies, meditative moments are made, there are plays and the famous masked dances performed by the monks themselves.

They are very colorful days where locals enjoy a lot. During the festival monks perform continuous bids and bless various things such as a species of sacred tablets distributed among the attendees to have long life, and also bless the Torma, figure made of flour and decorated with butter colored at first symbolizes the body of the deity and the end of the ceremony that figure symbolizes enlightenment.
