Sikles trek to Sikles village the largest Gurung village trekking
The Sikles trek takes the tourists to Sikless, a popular cultural village of the Gurung people. Sikles village is to the north of Pokhara valley. Those who take up the Sikles trek can view the spectacular Himalayan panorama of the Annapurna range and Mardi Himal. The trekkers walk through the lush green forests watching different species of birds, wild animals and pass through ethnic villages.
In Nepal this is one of the largest Gurung villages with about seven hundred houses. This gorgeous village that is well reserved by Gurung is at an altitude of 1980m. Annapurna Sikles trek promotes sustainable Eco-tourism. Most of the Glacial Lake of Nepal situated above 4000 meters from sea level but the only glacial lake Kapuche situated in 2546 meters.
Kapuche Lake is lowest glacial Lake of Nepal, brave trekkers can explore Kapuche lake during Sikles trekking period, it takes 8 hrs to reach the lake from sikles, Kapuche is the origin of Madi River also.
Annapurna foothills trek is ideal for exploring natural beauty, culture and lifestyle; Apart from the stunning views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Mardi Himal and Lamjung himal, Sikles trek provides a true picture of rural Nepal. From low land villages and rice terraces it goes up to 3000m and enter Gurung village as well as the forest of rhododendron. In the village the trekkers are excited when they find the well preserved traditions and lifestyle of the Gurung people and also their skills in making handicraft items.
Sikles is the home town of the popular Gorkha soldiers; decorated with picturesque Himalayan peaks, naturally beautiful landscape, flora and fauna, ethnic village’s etc. The trekkers have the rare opportunity to explore their lifestyle, rituals and culture. The individual Gurung communities have their own distinct culture, language and lifestyle. Trekkers spend some time in the tranquil forests with serene beauty.
In the evening the travelers watch and enjoy the folk dance performance popularly known as Ghantu, with local food dishes. In the absences of lodges and tea houses it is a camping trek. Best time of the year for Annapurna Sikles trek are February to May and August to December but Sikles trek can be organize year round.
Sikles trek itinerary
Day 01: Welcome to Nepal, upon your arrival in Nepal our representative welcome and assists to transfer in hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu valley tours and preparation for Siklis trek.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m).
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur then trek to Kalikastan.
Day 05: Trek from Kalikastan to Lamachour.
Day 06: Trek from Lalachour to Siklish (1980m).
Day 07: Trek from Siklish to Bhaisikarka.
Day 08: Trek from Bhaisikarka to Ghale Gaon.
Day 09: Trek from Ghale Gaon to Puranochour then drive to Pokhara.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu evening farewell dinner.
