Mount Annapurna I with its highest elevation at 8,091 meters, the Annapurna Nepal takes pride in being the world’s 10th highest mountain. It is the only 8,000 meters peak which has been less climbed peak of the 14 peaks over 8,000 meters in the world. In terms of prominence, it ranks 94th in the planet.

Believed to be the most dangerous 8000 meter peak to climb with a fatality rate of 38 percent, this region was first ascended by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal of France in 3rd June, 1950. it is situated in east of deepest Gorge in the world cut in the Himalayan region near the Kali Gandaki River in the Himalayas of Nepal, south Asia. Geographically it is located within latitude 28° 35′ 46′ north, longitude 83° 49′ 13′ east. Its elevation is about 8091 meters / 26,545 feet above the sea level.

This region is the most popular trekking destination of the world; it is protected by the Annapurna conservation area it requires special permits to enter this region for foreigner. Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal which was established in 1986 for Nature Conservation.

The Conservation area is home to several world-class treks, including the Annapurna Circuit. Mustang a former kingdom of Lo bordering Tibet is also a part of this region. The Conservation Area  7,629 km² is a well known trekking region. There are three major trekking routes upper mustang the Sanctuary trek route to base camp; and the Circuit trail, which circles the mountain range itself and includes the Jomsom route.
